It's getting to be that time of year, when we get non-stop lists of the best things of 2023. The restaurant business is cutthroat, and it take a really special eatery just to survive its first year. Rising above the others to grab nationwide attention takes hard work, attention to detail, and a great menu. It also takes the bravery necessary to do something different. When it works, it's golden. The Eater staff selected 12 new restaurants that go above and beyond. They can be found in big cities across the US- two of them are in Philadelphia- but also in Lockhart, Texas (population 14,379).
