Whilst visiting my local liquor store for some Christmas holidays fuels, I saw this oddity in the cordials aisle. Yes, it’s exactly what it looks like—a liqueur inspired by Eggo frozen waffles.
In August, Food & Wine magazine reported that Kellanova, the owner of the Eggo brand, and the Sugarlands Distilling Company of Gatlinburg, Tennessee teamed up to produce this alcoholic drink. It’s supposed to remind consumers of a late breakfast composed of Eggo waffles, bacon, and maple syrup. The target audience is busy parents who have slept in and are taking a break from their normal busy responsibilities.
