Recreating Modern Dishes with 18th-Century Cooking Techniques

ā€‹Jon Townshend is an expert on life in colonial America, particularly the food that people ate. He covers a multitude of tasty subjects at YouTube. In his latest video, he imagines going the opposite direction. Instead of bringing 18th century food into the modern era, how about sending modern food back to the early United States? For example, how would you introduce an Egg McMuffin to John Adams? You'd make each component using familiar colonial techniques. Made from scratch, it has to be good! It certainly has more sausage than you'd ever get at McDonald's. With pancakes on the side, no less.

But that's not the only time Jon has used his "time machine." Watch him prepare a hamburger for Ben Franklin.

And a pizza for George Washington.

See? Cooking methods don't have to be modern to be delicious. -via Nag on the Lake ā€‹
