Jeffrey J. Hall, an American living in Japan, shares with us this wonder from that far away land of culinary delights. Isopods, which are sea-dwelling crustaceans, are a common enough food source in the western Pacific. In the past, we’ve shown you a ramen dish topped with a huge isopod in Taiwan.
Now, Hall tells us, it’s possible to get beer that is flavored with isopod meat in the barley malt. A restaurant in Tokyo offers this beer and suggests serving it with fried isopod.
The restaurant, which is named Kome to Circus, has a reputation for serving exotic meats.
I’m definitely up to try them all!
