Ramen Served with a Giant Frog on Top

Ramen is a big deal in Taiwan. Producing top quality and novel ways of preparing ramen is a fiercely competitive practice in the island nation. Last month, we saw that one shop offer a giant isopod on its dishes as a way to attract customers in search of a novel taste.

Now a rival shop, Yuan Ramen, offers a new protein-rich take on ramen. Taiwan News reports that the restaurant offers for the equivalent of $8 USD “Frog Frog Frog Ramen.” It contains only one frog, not three, but that one frog is a whopper. The huge frog, which is traditionally eaten in Taiwan, is cooked but unpeeled for the visual delight of customers.
